1. Review Copies: It is standard practice in the entertainment industry for publishers to offer writers access to materials for review and publicity purposes. In cases where I received such access, via a review copy, non-public screening/performance, or complimentary admission to a public event, I will disclose that I have received this consideration, alongside the review or article.
However, the vast majority of reviews on this site are recommending things I personally purchased or otherwise paid to access.
2. Professional Affiliations: I write about and also promote movies, television series and music for a living. If I am writing about something I am currently working on (or have worked on in the past), I will disclose this in the body of the piece.
