FLCL Original Soundtrack 1: Addict | Geneon Anime Music strikes again, this time with a great package that is pretty much a direct port of the Japanese import version. The highlight is most definitely the OAV's opening theme, "Ride on Shooting Star" by the Pillows, but there are more great guitar riffs inside, too. Highly recommended for guitar junkies.
"Away From the Sun" by Three Doors Down | The title track of their latest CD manages to be melancholy, athemic and intimate all at the same time.
Full Metal Panic!, Mission 07 | Due out this week, the last volume of the first FMP! TV series is just plain, edge-of-your seat fun. I'm going to go into withdrawal until season two is released domestically.
Pretear, Vol. 3 | This volume truly has some plot twists that threw me for a loop, yet are in character and explainable within the series' context so far.
Millennium Actress | A beautifully executed and thought-provoking movie that managed to not come off Mitty-esque. It's really too bad that Dreamworks didn't go the extra mile -- no dub and hard-to-read subtitles. I watched this late in the evening and had to stop and rewind at least two times because the on-screen dialogue was difficult to read. In this day and age, all anime films and the vast majority of the rest should be at least bilingual with appropriate subtitle options.
Girl Got Game, Vol. 1 by Shizuru Seino | There are a couple, similarly themed titles coming out, and this one definitely worth a look because of its cute art and very sympathetic (and feisty) heroine.
