"Numb" and assorted other tracks off of Meteora by Linkin Park | The aforementioned track is getting a LOT of airplay here in Tampa, so it's pretty inescapable. (Luckily, I like the song well enough that this isn't a bad thing. ~_^) My other favorites are "Easier to Run" and "Faint." An entire album chock full of good workout songs.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex OST by Yoko Kanno | I'm still obsessed with this album. I must be going through an industrial/ electronic-influenced rock moment.
Boys Over Flowers, Vol. 2: Cinderella for a Night | Tsukasa so has a crush on Tsukushi, and the driving force behind it seems to be the fact she can't stand him -- and deservedly so. He's one of those characters that's interesting in a fictional work, but you'd loathe him if you had to deal with him in real life.
ABC Soap Operas | I've been catching up with backlog for most of the week. In short:
- All My Children is getting interesting, but nothing can make me like Erica Kane.
- One Life to Live rocks! It may not be high art, but there's some entertaining storytelling and great performances happening over there. Trading the character of Christian for Michael Easton's new John McBain character is just paying off in spades. (It's nice to see this actor -- who has been so good for so long -- have a chance to play such a multifaceted character.) Also, the Todd/Walker and Blair storyline is a real treat because the actors and their performances are so appealing.
- General Hospital is just irritating the daylights out of me right now. The writing is borderline illogical because so many characters are acting out-of-character for no particular reason. YUCK!
Azumanga Daioh, Vol. 1 by Kiyohiko Azuma | This four-panel, gag comic, populated by high school teachers and students is pure, unadulterated, "mad EVIL fun!" ^_^ Just picked up the second volume yesterday...
My Sassy Girl, written by Ho Sik Kim and art by Dae Hong Min | After having seen the (wonderful) movie adaptation of the author's stories, I was a little thrown by the art -- and the fact it was in full color. (If anything, it kind of reminds me of the style used in GTO.) The good news? The story seems to hew pretty close to what I was hoping it would be, and it benefits from the extended format the graphic novel/comic medium affords.
