The Animatrix: The Album | Lots 'o' techno.
"Take It Off" by The Donnas | I can't decide if they're intending for this song to be a.) ironic, b.) over the top feminist or c.) slutty to pull in the teenage/college boy demo. (Or if they d.) haven't quite figured it out for themselves.) In this day and age, it's a toss up.
Pretty Hate Machine by Nine Inch Nails | An oldie, but goodie. I can't believe this album was released in 1989. It's aged incredibly well.
The Animatrix | Predictably, my favorite sequences ("Kid's Story" and "Detective Story") were done by Shinichiro Watanabe, the director of Cowboy Bebop. My other favorites were "Flight of the Osiris" (score another one for Andy Jones) and "World Record."
Cowboy Bebop Movie | It is the focus of July's feature story, so you'll hear all of my ramblings soon enough. ^_^
Kimagure Orange Road TV, Vol. 2 |
Lord of the Rings, Extended Version | If you haven't read the books, the extended version adds some good "bridge" information. I LOVE Viggo Mortensen.
Under the Glass Moon, Vol. 1 by Ko Ya-Seong | Korean GN that falls somewhere between wacky comedy and shoujo-style melodrama. With witches and warlock/wizards.
Mars, Vol. 12 by Fuyumi Soryo | Each new volume is kind of bittersweet these days... only three more left. :-( We're finally getting filled in on the *details* of Rei's family situation. It's a lot more complicated than I initially guessed.
Peach Girl Change of Heart, Vol. 3 by Miwa Ueda | Mars ending makes me appreciate that there are many more volumes left in this series. Kiley is such a babe. And his brother and Sae deserve each other.
