Wolf's Rain OST by Yoko Kanno | Beautiful, beautiful music. I'm a sucker for any collaborations Yoko Kanno has with Steve Conte, so this one's a given. Highlights include: - "Stray": The anime's opening song with vocals by Conte - "Strangers": Kind of reminds me of a "Missing" by Everything But the Girl, but I like this infinitely better. ^_^ - "Gravity": A great vocal turn by Maaya Sakamoto. She has grown so much musically since the Escaflowne TV series. Her voice just gets prettier, stronger and more controlled with each new project. - Lots of Brazillian-influenced acoustic guitar stuff.
Ride on Shooting Star by The Pillows | The closing music from FLCL. We need more kick-ass J-rock, in addition to all of the J-pop that's being brought over.
"God Put a Smile Upon Your Face" by Coldplay | I've got a confession to make: This song is the single reason I have yet to *really* digest the rest of this wonderful album. Great guitar licks and lyrics that aren't too suggestive in and of themselves but are made just this side of dangerous by lead singer Chris Martin's delivery. This is what rock is about. I dig it.
RahXephon, Orchestration 3: Harmonic Convergence | I love it when I can't totally tell where a series is going, especially when it is populated by characters I genuinely like.
Read or Die | As a former bookworm who wore glasses as a teenager, how can I not enjoy this OAV?s me up.
Alien Nine, Vol. 1 by Hitoshi Tomizawa | A very interesting premise. Now I need to shoehorn in time to tell ya'll about it via a new review.
Style.com | The home web site for Vogue and W magazines. I love that I can see detailed pictures of the fall runway shows NOW. It helps me pretend that it the heat index isn't 100+ outside.
