The A List - August 5, 2002
By Alison L. Roberts
I've been pretty lame this week because I've been preoccupied with putting the finishing touches on the Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 feature. (Read: This week's list is pretty light.)
LISTENING:
Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 - As Sekiria/Priss Asagiri Vocal Collection: The collected vocal tracks from the TV series. Really good techno-rock with just a little bit of a pop feel. It tends to stay in my CD player for months at a time.
Tom Petty: Full Moon Fever: Classic California rock by way of a longtime Southerner. (Go Gainesville!) And "Free Fallin'" has skateboarders in its video.
WATCHING:
Berserk, Vol. 2: Immortal Soldier: I'm really digging the political intrigue that is starting to brew with this one.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death and Rebirth: If you aren't a completist, you can probably hold out for End of Evangelion this fall. (Keep in mind that I'm one of the people who really likes the TV ending.)
READING:
VOGUE Magazine's August 2002 issue (The one with Jennifer Aniston.): It's this year's age issue, and it is so cool to see the 50 to ?? year-olds outshine the boring teenybopper models.
